1. General questions about classes
What time do I arrive for a yoga class?
Always plan to arrive 10 minutes early. Coming late disturbs others!
Mobile Phones
Remember to switch them off or put on silent!
What to wear?
* Comfortable clothing that you can easily move in: whether it's stretchy lycra or baggy jogging bottoms the most important thing is that you can move freely in it, won't trip over the trouser bottoms and if you are wearing a baggy t-shirt a top tip is to have a fitted vest-top underneath so that you're not exposed when bending down!
* Bring a jumper and socks for the final relaxation to ensure warmth and snugness.
What is provided?
Mats, blocks, belts and blankets
What else to bring?
A bottle of water if you get thirsty
Eating before class
Ideally eat 2 hours before class as then the food has digested and you still have energy. Need an emergency snack before class?! Then we recommend you eat something easily digestible like a yoghurt, banana.
How to approach your yoga practice
Remember there is NO competition, not even with yourself! We are all unique and a yoga is a wonderful place to experience your unique perfection, just how you are.
SMILE, RELAX and don't take yourself too seriously...it's meant to be FUN!
2. How to Pay for Courses and Drop-In Classes and Refunds
- New to Battersea Yoga? Have your first drop-in class for FREE. No
need to book. Applies to Monday 6.30pm and 8pm at Chatham Hall, 152
Northcote Rd, SW11. Just turn up 10 minutes before class. The class runs every Monday (except Bank
Hols and Xmas, always check the timetable for unforeseen changes).
- Drop-in rate is £14 for ALL classes (exception Wednesday 8pm meditation).
- 10 Class Drop-In
Ticket: Reduces the price from £14 to £12 for any drop-in
class
(does not apply to courses). The ticket has no date/time limit.
Collect ticket from relevant teacher at the first class you attend after
purchasing online £120 (use the non-standard payment
option). (Class price went up on April 1st 2010).
- Buy Half a Course: we have introduced
this option due to many of our terms being longer than usual, at 15 weeks. The half a course option allows you to still get the reduced course rate price e.g. £12 a week. This must first be agreed
with Battersea Yoga and then please remember to specify in the
reference box which course you are attending for half the course. Use the non-standard payment opton to buy half a
course
- Latecomers to Courses: we are happy for you to join any of our courses after the course has started so long as there is space. If it has been agreed
that
you can join a course late, then you will just pay for the remainder of
the course as a non-standard payment.
- Can I attend a course on a drop-in basis? Yes for the drop-in rate (currently £14). We do recommend attending the whole course because (a) it has been
crafted to create a flowing structure, building on each consecutive
week to give you maximum benefit (b) it works out cheaper for you!
- Methods of
Payment:
CASH: Please pay the relevant teacher when you come to the class.
CHEQUE : Send cheques to: Battersea Yoga, 50 Altenburg Gardens, Battersea, SW11 1JL or hand the cheque to the relevant teacher before class.- Make cheques payable to Battersea Yoga Ltd (for Angus Ford-Robertson's courses)
