Experienced Meditation Drop-In Classes and Courses

Who are these Meditation Classes/ Meditation Courses for?
Battersea Yoga Meditation Courses for the more experienced meditator, are for anyone who already has some experience of meditation and wishes to deepen their meditation practice or explore new avenues within it.  Whilst more suited to those with some meditation experience, anyone is welcome.  No particular beliefs necessary. All you need is an open mind, a little patience and a desire to learn an age-old practice.

There are two formats for these classes:

1)  COURSE BOOK:  Each term a course book is chosen and this provides a frame in which students can explore the concepts and benefits of meditation.  Classes include a different guided meditation each week, course book discussion and open discussion of experiences, insights and any difficulties they are experiencing in their meditation practice and everyday life application of it.
Please note: missed meditation classes can be used at Chatham Hall for Open Hatha classes on Mondays
See
'Timetable and Booking' page.
Typical books used:
Donna Farhi     "Bringing Yoga to Life
Caroline Myss  "Anatomy of the Spirit"

Louise Hay       "You Can Heal Your Life"

These can be bought from most bookshops, or you can buy them here on amazon.

2)  DROP-IN AGENDA FREE CLASSES:  The term opperates as a weekly Drop-In Meditation Class, without any pre-agreed agenda.  This means there is no course book (as with our meditation course and beginners meditation course) and that each week
will explore a range of different mindfulness meditation techniques, guided meditations, breathing and Bioenergetic exercises to take you deep into meditation.

What is the format of the classes?
1)  Arrive in time to get a cup of tea: Students arrive 10 minutes before the meditation group begins, with tea and biscuits available. Once settled, we sit (on a cushion or chair) to begin the session with a short 'check-in'.
2)  Guided meditation for 10-15 minutes (the guided meditation will be different each week)
3)  (Not relevant for Drop-In classes) A short talk on the current chapter of the course book (please note, this is a relaxed group atmosphere with no pressure on you to speak up unless you want to).

4)  Open discussion: the subject matter is opened up for discussion amongst the group, allowing us to explore ways in which we can bring peace and equanimity into our lives.

5)  All the meditation courses, regardless of the particular book we are studying, will convey a number of key meditation techniques and skills, including ways to enter meditation relaxation, deepen your understanding of ancient spiritual practices and let go of habitual stress.

Group Size?
Numbers are limited to around 20 students per session for both classes and courses.
For the drop-in class, it is first come first served, however, we will always endeavour to squeeze you in where possable!
